No Surprises Act &
Good Faith Estimates
The No Surprises Act protects patients from certain unexpected medical bills. Patients who do not have insurance or are not using their insurance generally have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate showing the expected charges for healthcare services.
If you are uninsured or self-paying, ask April's office about a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling services.
Your rights
If your final bill is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you may be eligible to dispute the bill through the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process. Generally, this process must be initiated within 120 calendar days of the original bill and involves a $25 administrative fee, which may be refunded depending on the outcome.
For complete information about your rights and current rules, visit CMS No Surprises Act resources or call 1-800-985-3059.
Contact the office at (813) 600-2932 with questions regarding estimates or billing.
